One of the best things about the sport of skateboarding is the flexibility offered to skaters regarding their setup. For example, a rider might want a lot of ‘pop’ from their board and so would pick a deck made from very responsive maple wood, or one that has a large concave shape. However, that same rider might use their board for some downhill riding with tight bends, and so may want to choose soft bushings or add some risers to the board in order to give better turning ability.
