A while ago you wouldn’t have seen many surf clothing brands releasing shirts in their ranges, but recently there has been a massive boom in demand. This is likely to be because shirts can often be worn as informal attire these days and look no more out of place down the beach as they do in an office environment. Of course the kinds of shirts you wear down the beach don’t look the same as the office variety, but you get the idea.

Checked shirts and plaid shirts are massive at the moment and pretty much every surf brand worth their salt has jumped on the band wagon and released a plaid shirt design in all the colours under the sun. Flannel shirts are also very big right now and these have taken informality to the max. They also have the added bonus of being very good at absorbing water – making them perfect as replacement towels when you’re a bit forgetful and want to go for a surf.
