Not many people realise just how important footwear is to extreme sports enthusiasts. Often if you’re a surfer you want shoes than you can kick off at a moment’s notice, so you probably want to go for slip-on shoes. This means that you won’t miss the massive set that’s heading in to shore whilst you’re fiddling with your laces. If you’re a skateboarder or BMX fan, chances are you need a thick shoe with a decent sole and padded tongue. This is because you’re bound to bail every now again and if you’ve got flimsy shoes they’ll fall apart and cause your feet some harm.
Retro shoes are really big at the moment and we are seeing a return of simple “geek chic” designs that originated from America. High-ankle shoes are also big right now and Nike have some great designs out that offer wearers even more support and protection when they’re doing their stuff.
