Surfboard Racks & Pads

It’s all very well having a surfboard, but unless you’re lucky enough to live right on the beach, you’re going to need some way of transporting it about. Some people have the luxury of a van that they can chuck their boards in the back of after a session and head to the pub in no time. For the rest of us, adaptations to our cars are needed in order to transport our surfboards, and this is where racks and pads come in.

Racks tend to be solid metal bars that attach to the roof of the car, lay your boards on, and then strap them down to. You can however get soft racks that are not as secure, but a whole lot cheaper and much easier to chuck in the boot when you don’t need them. So as not to damage the car or your surfboards, it’s advisable to purchase some pads as well, which act as cushioning and stop you picking up dings as you go over potholes.
