Cannondale Super V 700SX medium mountain bike. The Super V SL lightweight aluminium frame has 120mm of rear wheel travel. The front fork is a Lefty DLR with 100mm of travel at just 3.7lbs, with 3 times the fatigue life and 3 times the torsional stiffness of other top forks.
The Lefty fork has an adjustable damping dial on the top with a lockout lever and is air sprung. It was serviced last year by my local cannondale mechanic and new seals fitted so does not loose any air. The rear shock is a Fox Float R with adjustable damping dial. Again this was serviced by Mojo in 2005 and a new bush kit fitted in 2006 so is all very tight.
Fitted with top of the range disc brakes. These are Coda dual piston 180mm front and 160mm rear. The pads are easy to replace as they are magnetic and simply slot into place, and can easily be purchased off ebay or through CRC. The wheels are also Coda four bolt, however a rear 6 bolt rotor is also included in the sale if you already have an alternative rear wheel you want to use. The rear hub was recently serviced by Leisure Lakes in Cheltenham this year and new bearings fittted. The front is in excellent condition.
The specification includes Shimano STX front mech, XT rear mech (recently fitted), Sram PG970 11-34T cassette, Sram powerlink chain, Coda cranks fitted with 22/32/42 rings (42T Middleburn red anodized nearly new), Shimano PDM424 clipless pedals with cages, Shimano LX shifters, Coda Headshok stem polished silver (100mm but longer black as pictured can be fitted if required), Fizik saddle with side gaurds (small tear at back but fine in use). Tires are excellent Michelin All Mountain Expert Dual Compound 2.2 Kevlars.
Frame size is Medium or 18" which with the 390mm seatpost can accomodate anyone upto 6ft (me). I can also fit a smart black 350mm seatpost if you would prefer something shorter.
I love this bike it rides better than most new full suspension designs and soaks up the bumps like it has 6" of travel. The Super V frames are very strong and versatile - equally happy climbing or descending. In fact riding trails at Welsh trail centres many of my friends struggle to keep up on their latest Santa Cruz, Specialized or Treks. However I rarely use this bike other than riding to the shops as I have another Cannondale Super V i now use instead. It seems a shame to leave it unused so my loss is your gain.
Recently upgraded parts and serviced this bike will give you years of trouble free riding. Included with the sale is the Cannondale Headshok Lefty owners manual, choice of stems if required, instructions for the disc brakes and servicing together with the Cannondale service kit and brake fluid, and the spare rear disc rotor. Also i have the original purchase receipt from 2001 when the bike cost £1799 new.
Also available is a brand new rear coil shock i purchased as a spare but never used. It is an X-Fusion Super Glyde coil shock with externally adjustable rebound damping and its your for just £50 if you want to add it to the sale.
If you are after a reliable full suspension bike then this Cannondale is for you. There are some small scratches which have been touched up and a small ding on the downtube which is purely cosmetic, after all this is a used bike, but the frame has just been waxed and looks fantastic.
