Rare opportunity to buy what was the top of the range in this series of bikes.
I have kept most of the original spec bike but have made a few changes (for the better) as I have gone along.
I am 5’ 10” (inside leg 31”) and the bike is a perfect fit. I have a friend who is two inches shorter who rides exactly the same size!
Everything has been looked after and serviced regardless of cost and unless you find one that’s been locked in a cupboard for two years, I cannot imagine there being a better one out there.

• 125mm three position Scott TC rear shock (remote control).

New bike is arriving so this much loved and well cared for machine is up for grabs.
The wheel set was new in December, as I got fed up of the impossibility of fitting tyres to the Mavic UST rims. Those were sold and a set of No Tubes Arch wheels fitted. They were hand built at a local bike shop. The advantage over the UST system is ease of tyre fit and the ability to run tubes or tubeless without the worry that a damaged tyre will end your ride prematurely. These wheels allow you to reseat your tyre even with a mini pump!
They have tubes fitted at the moment.
The bike is two and a half years old and has been looked after meticulously including servicing annually at a Scott dealer. Last warranty main service was December 2007 when the forks and rear shock were both fully overhauled by Scott and Mojo (cost £200) and I had the new wheels fitted (£300 +). All bearings were checked at the same time. Recent mini service in May included new chain (PC991) and XT rear cassette. Before putting the bike up for sale it has been stripped down and cleaned. The headset has been removed and bearings greased. The bottom bracket has been had similar treatment. New bearings have been fitted to the horst link as the originals had developed a little play and I have put on a new Specialized saddle (£60) as the other was a bit on the tatty.
The brake pads are virtually brand new (just bedded in). All in all, the bike is in superb condition for its age and the new owner should have no problems with any of the fitted components. Obviously, the bike has the normal scuffs associated with mountain biking but is guaranteed to be free of any serious damage to frame or parts. Everthing works just as it should.
